Our Favorite Pet-related Smart Phone Apps

11.11.2012 | 11:20 pm

There really is an App for everything! From choosing a name to learning CPR for your dog, there are dozens of Apps available for iPhone and Android users.

Here are five fun and useful pet-related smart phone apps to help make pet parenting easier:

1. Pet Names Over 3000 entries will help you find a name for your new dog, cat, bird, gerbil or even reptile. You never know what will spark your flash of inspiration! Pet Names is available free for iPhone users.

2. Pet Services Finder PetMD offers this app to help you find a groomer, pet sitter, dog walker, dog parks and more for you and your furry friend. This is especially helpful for anybody who is new to the neighborhood or recently adopted a new pet.

3. Pet Snap Finally! There’s an App to end blurry pet photos! How does it perform this miracle? It plays 30 different animal sounds to get Fido’s attention and then snaps several shots in succession. It’ll even put borders around your images so they’ll look extra special on Facebook. Available for the iPhone.

4. Pet Tech Billed as the “first international training center dedicated to CPR, First Aid & Care for dogs and cats,” Pet Tech teaches you what to do in an emergency.

5. Caniner Doggie Diary Saves medication information, walk schedules, favorite toys or treats or anything else you want to save about your four legged friend. This makes it easy to keep track of favorites things and dislikes, as well as remember just when Max last had his heartworm treatment.

BONUS APP (because five just wasn’t enough!) Dog Translator Who hasn’t wondered what their dog was thinking? This App listens to your pet’s bark and “translates” it into English. Good fun and it’s free for the iPhone.

Introducing the Incredible Butler Blue

04.12.2010 | 10:19 am

Butler Blue, Butler University’s English Bulldog mascot, Holistic Select and City Dogs Grocery in Indianapolis, hosted a party this weekend in celebration of the Butler University men’s basketball team and their phenomenal 2009-10 season. It was a beautiful day and the entire neighborhood came together to help celebrate the great season the Butler Basketball team had.

As you can probably tell from these photos – Butler Blue is a true blue Holistic Select fan! He just loves his Holistic Select Radiant Adult Health Anchovy, Sardine & Salmon Meal Recipe.

We presented the “Thank You” letter along with the Holistic Select basket during the event. Blue loved all the goodies in his basket. Michael felt very honored that we thought so much of him and Blue to do something for them.

Ingredient Spotlight – The Nutritional Benefits of Tomato Pomace

12.30.2009 | 01:25 pm
Tomato Pomace

Tomatoes

More than just a functional and ideal fiber source, Tomato Pomace is an excellent amino acid source for your pet. Additionally, Tomato Pomace is a good source of antioxidants for your pet. Tomato Pomace contains concentrated Lycopene, considered one of today’s premier antioxidants. Antioxidant benefits of Lycopene are improved with heat during the cooking process. Antioxidant rich Tomato Pomace comes to the rescue to help prevent excessive free radical production for healthy cells.

Tomato Pomace has an extra value for our feline friends. It helps naturally adjust pH levels to help reduce crystals, it naturally stimulates taste and it is an aid in our feline hairball formula by helping to draw cat hair through the cats system. All Holistic Select Recipes include Tomato Pomace, providing health benefits for dogs and cats alike.

Get a bag of Holistic Select in any of our delicious dry food recipes today and start your pet’s New Year off with their daily fill of lycopene. Your furry friend will thank you.
